Gallery 20 Opens The Door To Success
Last night I attended the opening of something rather special. Gallery 20 is set in a gorgeous covered ‘yard’ in the beautiful town of Leek in North Staffordshire. Getliffe’s Yard is a magical little row of amazing independent businesses including designers, food outlets and gift shops and it is where Gallery 20 has found it’s home.
Gallery 20 is a new group of talented artists and makers who have taken the amazing decision to have a place to display and sell their wares. This means that the gallery has a really stunning mix of gifts from hand printed cushions and designed and made ceramics to wooden ornaments & paintings on the wall. All of their products have been brought together under one roof with aplomb – re used drawers as shelves, up cycled doors providing backdrops to jewellery & cards and a cool colour palette of whites, slate grey and copper.
Perhaps more importantly than how the group have brought together their creations, is what Gallery 20 does for the individual indie business owners who have set it up. It means time to sell and time to make for all of them and it means pooling resources to take this leap into retail. It also means support & sharing out skills – all of them bringing their forte to the business.
So…in the run up to Christmas and, more importantly, beyond, pop by and meet these pioneers, drink in their talent and buy their wares…you are making ALL the difference. Visit the other shops too of course, including Misco’s Chocolates…gorgeous handmade chocolate heaven who also celebrated the opening of their new, larger premises last night.
