A close shave for the NHS
Bernie Webbe, founder of Urban8Create and member of the Member’s Club, is shaving her head for her local hospital to offer her support during the pandemic to say a special thank you.
This is not a one off for Bernie who has been raising money for the NHS for a long time, in fact proceeds of her stunning Urban8Create jewellery sales all go to the NHS.
Bernie was given the news that her own cancer was terminal in 2017 after being diognosed with a rare form of cancer – ACC (adenoid cystic carcinoma) – in 2006 – she has since had six further diagnoses.
As a thank you to all doctors, nurses and staff at Royal Stoke University Hospital, in Staffordshire, Bernie will shave her head live via a Facebook live stream on Thursday 30 April at 8:05pm.
“As a thank you for all the support I’ve had over the last 14 years from the Royal Stoke University hospital, I am doing a head shave to raise money for the UHNM Charity,” says Bernie.
“Everyone at the hospital has been really helpful to me and I can’t thank them enough. The charity do amazing things and I just want to do what I can.”
UHNM is a registered charity which provides funds to enable University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment and to enhance and improve patient experience and comfort at County Hospital in Stafford and Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.
