A Day of Action of Two Wheels

Staffordshire Cycling Festival 2018

Today – a story of cycling, family fun & an indie festival experience. One of our members, Ride Staffs are hosting a stunning cycling spectacular on Sunday July the 22nd which promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

This tenacious, hugely talented and knowledgeable team have attracted hundreds of cyclists to the Redrow Homes Staffordshire Cycling Festival – a day of two wheeled, mass participation action taking place in the county town of Stafford in Staffordshire.

Famous for their commitment to providing stand out experiences for cyclists of all ages and levels, the Staffordshire Cycling Festival will have two principle routes during the day. There is a gruelling 60 mile course taking in some stunning locations and a 40 mile route that cuts out some of the biggest climbs. Both races finish in the historic town centre which will be packed with spectators as the festival hub.

After the main sportive, the day will keep getting better, the hight go which will be a the return of professional cycle racing to the county town when the best pro riders from across the UK will be competing in the Stafford Grand Prix, starting at around 7pm. Riders will be zipping around a new 750m town centre circuit that will see them completing a lap roughly once a minute. It will be fast-and-furious racing and a real spectacle for all the family to enjoy.

Before that there will be an Oxford v Cambridge university cycle race, and the stars of tomorrow will get to ride the pro course, too, with boys’ and girls’ races in under-14 and under-16 categories.

After the sportives, in the build-up to the races, there will be big-screen action from the Tour de France, a Strider balance bike course for the little ones; food and drink from Wildfire Pizza Company, Bear Coffee and Lymestone Brewery; and the latest cycling gear and goodies from Pro-Vision Clothing.

The Festival prides itself on its relationships with local business and is passionate about its home – Stafford. This truly is an exceptional, independent, experience that is both local and international.

Paul from Ride Staffs tells us that there just a few places left for the sportive, so head to their website to snap them up.
