When Charity & Business meet at Christmas
There are so many things that we are totally loving this Christmas build up about how independent business does things differently from the big corporates that often leads to a truly magical festive experiences – and this story is a fine example!
Gallery at 12 is a stunning cooperative of artists based in Staffordshire who gather undergone roof at their Gallery at 12 in the village of Eccleshall but also support each other, host guest exhibitions and share the load of running a shop – genius.
Even more genius, they host a charity event every year to give back while selling their gorgeous wares. This Saturday (8th December) they are hosting their Charity Day when 10% of all their sales will be donated to Shape Arts, “an organisation providing opportunities and support for disabled artists and cultural organisations to build a more inclusive and representative cultural sector”
Many of their members will be attending during the day so you can meet the artists and makers and have a chat over a mince pie and drink.
We think this is just what Christmas is all about – sharing the love, creating connection and providing the opportunity to make shopping itself a gift.
